Isle of Bute Livestock Group organises a series of monthly Discussion Group meetings between October and March and summer farm visits.
A wide range of livestock topics are covered, by mainland speakers, which will be of interest to all livestock producers. You are cordially invited to attend.

Topic: My Farming System
Mr Harper, runs about 200 Aberdeen Angus and Simmental cross cows on 600 acres. The majority of the farm’s land is in grass, some cereals are grown to feed the cattle.

* Achieve a high health status for all cattle bred or imported on to the Isle of Bute
* Implement a local herd health programme
* Create a marketing opportunity for breeding stock, stores, finished cattle and dairy products
* Organise a discussion forum for the exchange of technical information
* Provide a cattle record keeping service
